Introduction
The Understanding the Scriptures Podcast is composed of 30 episodes with each episode having a length between 72 and 80 minutes.
It is a recording of a real Bible study that took place at Saint Mary Catholic Church in Brenham, TX between the fall of 2006 and the spring of 2007. Each episode/class covers one of the 30 chapters in the textbook titled “Understanding the Scriptures,” by Scott Hahn, Ph.D. (this textbook is part of the Didache series). Listeners to the podcast do not need to purchase this textbook, though it would be beneficial to purchase a copy and follow along.
The course follows the plan of Salvation History from Genesis to Jesus and demonstrates the unity of God’s salvific plan throughout the Old Testament, into the New Testament, and even through to today. Presented by Carson Weber, B.B.A., M.A.

The Understanding the Scriptures Podcast is provided at no cost to anyone and everyone who wishes to participate anywhere in the world, whether they are financially well off or poor. While some apostolates and ministries would charge a significant amount for similar content, we have kept this podcast absolutely free so that it may reach as many souls as possible.
However, we do incur expenses in the realm of website design, server space, bandwidth, advertising and other means to distribute and promote this unique proclamation of God’s Word.

Carson! I’m very excited to leave this comment. I just finished the 30 episodes of Understanding The Scriptures. You’re a wonderful Teacher. If I had not found this podcast I might be in protest to God’s Church. I was attending the other churches outside the Catholic Church trying to find my home and praying to the Lord to place me where he wants me. About 6 months before the wedding I was lost, I lived in accordance to the World, I forgot the Word of God that was taught to me as a child but because of God’s Grace and Divine nature, God called out to me via co-workers and family and I was given a book to read about the depths of hell and that was when I surrendered to Christ and consider myself Born Again from that point on. That was when i started looking for a Church. My Father prayed to the Holy mother and asked that she intercede with Jesus and ask that I not go into protest to the Church of Christ and If I was in Texas right now I would shake your hand, I hope God richly blesses you for the effort you put out to give us his word and teach us such great truth. This podcast helped me understand why Catholosism is the Church of Christ and I am now teaching CCD for 4th graders at St. Cecelia Church in Rockaway NJ and also taking my RCIA classes now with my wife. I’m sharing that podcast with others and have shared what I have learned from that podcast with friends and family. Thank you so much for that, and praise the Lord for the inspiration and truth. I had a lot of fun during those 30 episodes. It took me about 3 months to get through them all but I listened on my iphone during my commute to work. What a blast that was. My commute seemed short after that.
